When I was pregnant with my first child I remember a woman at a table near me in a restaurant stopped me and said: "Don't worry about cooking and cleaning and keeping things tidy. Appreciate every minute you have with your child, it goes so fast". I thought it was a little strange at the time but now, whenever I catch myself being quick or frustrated with my children when I'm busy cooking or doing something else, the memory pops up in my mind and I make an effort to drop whatever I am doing and to go and sit with them, play with them or listen to what they wanted to tell me or show me.
