Khoya matar makhana

Khoya matar makhana is one of the most popular, savoury North Indian curries. In this curry, the presence of khoya with Makhana and peas makes it a delicious main course.


100 grams khoya grated
1 cup onion chopped
2 cups lotus seeds (makhanas)
1 cup green peas
1 cup fresh tomato puree
1.5 teaspoon chopped ginger
1-2 Green chilli chopped
1.5 teaspoon garlic chopped
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
1 teaspoon coriander powder (dhania)
½ teaspoon chilli powder (optional)
1 teaspoon garam masala
3-4 green cardamon
1 bay leaf
1″ cinnamon stick
3-4 clove
1 teaspoon Kasuri methi
2-3 tablespoon ghee or oil
2 tablespoon Ghee for frying
Salt to taste
finely chopped coriander
