Paneer Tikka Masala – The ultimate paneer cheese recipe with marinated cubes of paneer grilled, typically in a tandoor, and then cooked in a creamy tomato sauce perfumed with dried fenugreek. You have got to try this to know how heavenly it is!
Ingredients:
For the paneer tikka:
8 oz paneer, cubed into 1-2 inch cubes, about 7-8 cubes
1/4 green pepper, cut into chunks
1/4 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
1/2 red onion, cut into chunks
cooking spray
For the marinade:
1/2 cup whole milk yogurt
½ tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp crushed ginger
¼ tsp crushed garlic
1/4 tsp cayenne (skip or reduce quantity to reduce heat)
salt, to taste
For the Creamy Tomato Sauce:
2 tbsp oil
1 red onion, chopped finely
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp minced ginger
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
2 roma tomatoes, chopped
4 tbsp kasuri methi / dried fenugreek
salt, to taste
1/2 cup cream + 1/2 cup whole milk (or use all cream)
3 tbsp minced cilantro, for garnish
