After a long day work, I fell like eating something authentic home-made Indian dish.But don’t fell like spending long time in the kitchen. My Mum used to cook prawn pulao with slightly fried boiled eggs ,mixed winter vegetables and garam masala.Suddenly I could smell that aroma in my house.Me and my sister had burned our tongues so many times,just because we could not wait till it cools down.Mum used to add green paper , carrots, beans in that pulao and cooked in a pressure cooker.I have skipped the vegetables and fried eggs just to avoid chopping and frying boiled eggs,because I am so tired. This dish takes 15 to 17 minutes to cook .By the time I freshen up my dinner is ready.But you need to have cleaned prawns, ready to cook in your stock
Ingredients:
soaked basmati rice : 1 cup
Water to cook the rice: 2 cups
Prawns : 15 to 20 as you like
Butter 2 table spoon in room temperature, oil 1 table spoon
Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon
One small onion chopped.If onion is large you will need half
Garlic cloves : 2 large or 4 small
Turmeric powder: half tea spoon
Red chili powder: 1 tea spoon
Cinnamon powder: 1 tea spoon
Grated fresh nutmeg powder .It is important to use freshly grated nutmeg powder for extra flavour
Whole cloves: 3 to 4
Whole cardamom : 2 to 3
Salt to taste
Sugar : 1 tea spoon
Raw red onion and green chili to garnish
