Navratan korma recipe with step by step photos. Navratan korma literally translates to nine jewels korma. Navratan means nine gems. It is believed that navratan korma was named after Mughal emperor Akbar’s 9 courtiers. They were known as Akbar’s navratans. It is also said that there should be 9 vegetables used in navratan korma recipe. Here I have used whatever vegetables I had to make navratan korma. Apart from vegetables paneer cubes are added. Pineapple is also added as garnish.I have left out pineapple as we do not like it in curries. I recently received a request asking tips for making navratna korma recipe. So here is navratna korma recipe for you all today!


1 carrot, peeled and chopped
1 big potato, peeled and chopped
½ cup cauliflower florets
10-12 beans
½ cup green peas
nnutsuts paste
10 cashews
10 almonds
2 teaspoons raisins
1 teaspoon melon seeds
Whole spices
1 bay leaf
1 inch cinnamon stick
1 black cardamom
2 green cardamoms
½ teaspoon black peppercorns
2-3 cloves
Other ingredients
1 onion thinly sliced
2 small tomatoes,pureed
½ cup cubed paneer
1 teaspoon minced ginger-garlic
2-3 green chilies
⅛ teaspoon saffron
3 tablespoons fresh cream
1 teaspoon kasuri methi
2 tablespoons butter
