As a child, my diet consisted mainly of fish and my love for fish has grown so much that I try to share the same love with my husband and children. Thus, I prepare fish at least once a week and this Maas Bhuna dish is a favourite that’s always asked for. It is a quick and easy Bengali dish, that can be whipped up easily using a handful of ingredients.
I use Ayer fish (Long-whiskered Catfish) in the recipe, but it is easily replaceable with any other firm fleshed whitefish.
Ingredients:
350g Ayer cutlets or other Whitefish cutlets
125g Onion, finely chopped
20g Garlic, finely grated
100g Tomato, diced
1 tsp. Ground Coriander
1/4 tsp. Ground Cumin
1/4 + 1/8 tsp. Chilli powder
1/4 + 1/8 tsp. Turmeric powder
1/2 + 1/4 tsp. Salt
5g Green Chillies, pierced
4 tbsp. Mustard oil

This looks so yummy! My husband and I have been working on “branching out” in our food styles, and we recently tried Indian food. We both loved it, and now that’s all we want to make (so much for branching out!).
