Being a Mumbaite, I am big fan of Vada Pav. I have posted the Vada Pav Recipe earlier also. This one is special though.Batata Vada is a popular Indian vegetarian fast food in Maharashtra, India. It literally means potato fritters.
Ingredients:
For the vadas :Boiled Potatoes – 2 medium sized
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Green chillies – 1/2 tsp (chopped finely)
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 medium sized (chopped finely)
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Urad dal- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 2 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
For Vada outer coating:
Besan flour – 1/4 cup
Rice flour – 1 tbsp
Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Baking soda – a pinch
Oil – to toast / deep fry
