My household consists of 3 chocolate addicts and me. Just to balance balance things out, I love non-chocolate citrus based desserts. I love creating chocolate based desserts, as they ensure I will act responsibly around them. In particular, I am very fond of making truffles, there is always something therapeutic about the process.
The inspiration for this recipe came from some I read in an in flight magazine when traveling through India, I knew this would be a hit with the brood and sure enough I was right.
For the truffles
½ cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
½ pound dark chocolate (60% cacao content or more)
2 teaspoons garam masala
½ teaspoon red cayenne pepper
For the topping
1 cup blanched, raw, unsalted peanuts
½ cup sesame seeds
11/2 teaspoons pink sea salt
